I miss you, internet.
Aug. 10th, 2010 04:53 pmSo, um, I'm not dead or anything. I'm just... failing at keeping all the balls in the air at the moment. Part of this is - and this is ridiculous - because I've recently fallen into playing LotRO as a WoW-substitute* , and it requires booting my machine into Windows rather than OS X, so all the stuff I'd normally do in the background doesn't get done because I don't have shit set up over there and I don't particularly want to; the Windows volume is solely for gaming. Why, why won't game designers make games for Macs? Blizzard has proved that it's entirely feasible. *sigh*
In any case, I shall have to work out a solution before Star Wars: The Old Republic comes out, because I am going to be impossible to prise away from that for ages, I predict.
And part of it is that I'm just feeling generally meh and bleh, and I'm frantically clinging to the escapism that keeps me happy (thus, LotRO) and I need to kick myself in the pants to get out of this rut, but I haven't worked out how yet.
Dammit! This wasn't meant to be all depressing. Feel free to ignore the above. And in media consumption news, I have been playing Starcraft II and developing a mild crush on Jim Raynor (who is about 110% my type), and rewatching A:tLA on my iPad. I love Avatar so very much :)
(* - I am a bit over WoW at the moment. Part of it is simple boredom; we're at the end of a long expansion pack, I've been playing for five years, and even Cataclysm is going to be more of the same, though I'll still be playing it til SWTOR comes out. And the other part is my disillusionment with Blizzard; the shenanigans over RealID, retracted though they were, really served to highlight that Blizzard is rapidly becoming the kind of company I do not trust, or like, and that does taint WoW for me a lot.)
