Nov. 5th, 2013 01:30 amVolume 1 of Captain Marvel, by Kelly Sue DeConnick, is one of the nominees in the "Best Graphic Novels & Comics" section of the 2013 Goodreads Choice Awards. If you've enjoyed it, I do urge you to go vote for it!
It's up against stiff competition, even for the fangirl vote - it's up against Matt Fraction's Hawkeye, and Avatar the Last Airbender: The Search. But I chose to vote for it as a political decision - I want Marvel to know that books about women can be a success too. Captain Marvel is an awesome book, and deserves to win in its own right, IMO; as a point-prover doubly so.
