Because Trek has EATEN MY BRAIN I am going on a TV-watching binge; right now it's early Voyager. And either this DVD is a bit flaky or it's interacting badly with the software, because every episode starts out with the dubbed German audio track and I have to manually switch it back over to English.

I have no idea what they're saying, but Robert Picardo shouting in incomprehensible German at some hapless engineer in Sickbay is fucking hilarious. \o/

(Edit: and now I'm imagining a plot bunny where the EMH's linguistics module gets screwed up and he goes all Tower of Babel on everybody, talking to people in Esperanto or Dutch or Finnish or what have you. Of course, it'd never work, what with the universal translator - but it's an amusing idea.)

Bwahahaha! That would actually be awesome. Maybe there's some kind of interference that overrides the universal translator; it doesn't happen often, but there's no reason you couldn't make it happen. :D

Voyager is the series I've seen the least of, but I'm sure I'll be picking it up relatively soon. My world, it is all Trek all the time right now. XD

Oh, mine too, mine too. I've always loved Trek - I never enjoyed TOS (mostly due to Shatner, sadly), but I loved everything else. I've got everything from TNG forwards on DVD except the last two seasons of Enterprise - although I still haven't watched more than 1 season of DS9 - so I have a looooong Trek marathon ahead of me. What a shame. *g*

DS9 remains my favorite, but I know everyone's Trek preferences vary wildly!

And with that, I am off to the library, where five separate Trek books await me. *g*

Clearly the writers of Voyager were Sulu fans :)
