Chewing off more than I can bite.

In her last post zvi made reference to the launch of Femslash09, a femslash ficathon. I'd somehow never heard of the ficathon before, although it's been running since 2004 - clearly I'm oblivious, or not in the loop.

I see that there are some shows in the (potential) fandom list that I feel comfortable in offering to write - Firefly, NCIS, Harry Potter, and (whee) Leverage - and perhaps even Bring It On. Hee. So, I shall watch, and vote, and try my very best to participate - if it weren't for deadlines I'd never get anything done at all!

Also, if you can or will or do write femslash in femslashy fandoms, you should get on over there and nominate appropriate fandoms and sign up and write and stuff.

(And now I shall go and expire from the hypocrisy of me telling someone else to write. Sigh. :))

For the Horde? Like hell!

So here's a thing I love about Leverage: so much of the fic is full of Warcraft references! All the fangirls who watch Leverage _and_ play WoW are letting their inner WoW nerds out and I love it.

I've always felt - not exactly frustrated - but kinda bifurcated; my fannish life is cut in half between WoW and the fanwork I do there (theorycrafting, blogging, et cetera) and media fandom proper. And I've always felt a little thingy that no matter what I talk about, I'm going to be boring half my audience, y'know?

Except apparently not, because I keep reading fics with WoW references that prove the author knows what they're talking about! It's awesome - I have found my people, yo!
