Well, that was a hell of a thing. First, it's LONG - three hours and one minute, in fact, and boy did it feel like it. It's the end of an era, and I don't have intelligent or eloquent things to say about it. Suffice to say that for better or worse the MCU changed cinema in some great ways, and whatever else I may feel, I'm thankful we've had it.

high level spoilery, natch; no major plot details. mixed feelings; avoid if all you want is unmitigated squee )

That's basically it for now; I'm happy to talk details in the comments if you've seen it.

First, let me preface this by saying that I have almost no awareness of any of the Ant-Man characters in canon, although I've enjoyed the versions of Janet I've seen popping up in various MCU-fic, and I'm aware of Hank Pym's general unpopularity at least in the circles of fandom I frequent (right along with the Everyone Hates Reed Richards meme).

So, given that I came into Ant-Man with no real feeling about how things ought to be: my thoughts, positive but non-specifically spoilery )

I had no major complaints and a lot of fun. More like this please, Marvel.

...I enjoyed that a LOT more than I expected.
