fannish5: Which five canons would you want to live in, and why?
Wheeeee! I mean, this is basically what drew me into fandom in the first place. :D
1. Star Trek Star Trek Star Trek star trek star trek startrekstartrekstartrekstartrekstartrekstartrek. Star Trek. Ahem. To be specific, probably TNG-ish era; I love everything from the aesthetics to the underlying feeling of hope and progress and general goodness. It's a very optimistic canon.
2.I would say Pern but I'm a woman, so, uh, no thanks. Let's go with McCaffrey's The Tower and the Hive canon, provided I'm a Talent, of course. ;)
3. Star Wars, probably around the KOTOR era (i.e. about 4000 years before the original trilogy). (Oh my god, I miss Star Wars Galaxies so much; words cannot express how much I'm looking forward to Star Wars: The Old Republic.)
4. Julian May's Galactic Milieu - again, assuming I got to be one of the cool kids. I think in this case I'd do well as a redactor, or perhaps creator.
5. The last one's hard; so many canons have huge upheavals or really dysfunctional settings for the sake of drama. (This is especially true of gaming canons.) Which means they're great places to play in or read about but man, you really wouldn't want to live there. Marvelverse? Exalted's Creation? Shadowrun's dystopian near-future? Faerun? The Buffyverse? They're all kind of brutal.
So I'm going to say Questionable Content, since it's basically now but with AnthroPCs, and doesn't everyone want a Pintsize of their own?
