First TV show I had self-insertion fantasies about:
I watched very little TV until I was in my late teens - we were a largely non-TV-ish household - so I didn't do this much while growing up. Red Dwarf is probably the first one I can remember.
First fandom in which I interacted (online and in person) with other fans:
In person, unless you count my dad and I talking about books, I haven't really done much.
Online: Hmm. I think this would probably have to be a whole bunch of book fandoms, via Usenet, when I first got online in the early 90s. Pern is the one that stands out, but I know there were others at the time.
Pairing in the first slash fanfiction I read:
Hmm. It doesn't particularly stand out in my memory, but it'd have to be something in lotrips, I think.
First RPS I read:
Lotrips again. I first got into fanfic via
cupiscent, and to begin with I basically read in any fandom she was writing. :)
First fanfiction I read that made me think, YES, this is exactly the kind of fanfiction I'd like to write...
Honestly, I can't think of anything that fits this. I am not a prolific writer, nor a confident one, and my natural response to stuff I want to say is "write meta!" rather than "write fic!".
First fanfiction I read that made me think, YES, this is exactly the kind of fanfiction I'd like to write, really well-written, and also funny...
Well see above with the 'not much of a writer' answer. That said, my first few fic fandoms weren't necessarily heavy on the humour; X-Men and lotrips tended to be heavy on the angst and seriousness. I don't remember reading much in the way of humour - even including banter or black humour - until
cupiscent's Pirates of the Caribbean fic, or
musesfool's occasional Ocean's 11 fic.
Pairing in the first fanfiction I wrote:
Jean Grey/Scott Summers, which wasn't a pairing I was specifically into, fannishly; I was responding to a powerswap challenge.
First FPS OTP:
I've never been hugely OTPish; I usually have a few preferred pairings in a fandom, but I'm happy to read most pairings unless they actively ping me as wrong or I'm uninterested in one or more of the characters. The first pairing I read heavily, though, was probably Wolverine/Rogue.
First RPS OTP:
See above about OTPs; plus the first RPS fandom I read was lotrips where the writers were really good at selling pretty much any pairing. I don't think I really focused on an RPS pairing until Patrick/Pete in bandom.
First fandom I wrote in that made me sweat bullets in fear I would fuck it up:
Anything I've ever written, pretty much. :)
First fanfiction writer I collaborated with:
I... don't think I have, outside of the normal beta/writer relationships.
First fanvid I saw that made me think WHAT IS THIS SORCERY!
Oh god, um. So, so many. The first would probably have been Merryish's Hello, which I am now going to watch again.
First fannish friend I met in person:
Assuming we're talking new-school fandom here rather than old-school fandom (ie fanwork-producing online media/book fandom, rather than con-centric male-dominated sf/f fandom), it'd be
cupiscent.
