1. I've been reading all your adventures in growing your own vegetables, and I'm kind of envious. I'm not sure I can physically handle actual gardening, but I'm growing more dissatisfied with the fruit & veg I can get from the supermarket or greengrocers, and it's annoying going from feast to famine based on where we are in the grocery-shopping cycle. :)

I do have some hydroponics gear my folks gave me for Christmas two years ago; I just don't have the right electricity hookups to use it outdoors yet. But I will! And then I will have tasty fresh vegetables and it will be awesome.

2. In the meantime, my herb greenhouse is doing very well - I'm currently running basil, mint, chives, rosemary and a ton of parsley, and I'll be picking up a coriander plant from the parents at Christmas. It's fantastic having fresh herbs at hand all the time, and the greenhouse arrangement has stopped the possums from eating all my parsley. I could never go back to dried herbs now, and it's made my cooking a whole lot bettr.

3. I fear I may have to default on Yuletide. This story's not shaping up the way I wanted it to, and I've had a whole bunch of last minute stuff land in my lap. I don't wanna, though. :/

So I'm trying the Tumblr thing. Again. It frustrates the hell out of me, but missing out on half the fannish conversation frustrates me more, so. :)

And now I'm going to bed because it's 0520 and we have the kids tomorrow today* and so of course my brain decided this was an excellent time for insomnia. Being an adult is hard enough; being an adult on three hours sleep is going to be nigh-impossible.

(* I still generally maintain that it's not tomorrow if I haven't slept yet, but given the sun is 100% up at this point I think I'll have to abandon denial just this once.)
